Nazr Mohammad playing well, but…..

Blogged under Front Page, Steppin Up by Nothing but Net on Thursday 16 November 2006 at 10:42 pm

Nazr Mohammad is playing well so far, but he doesn’t have the defensive presence that Ben Wallace had.  Teams are not scared to come into the paint anymore against the Pistons.  Nazr has averaged 7.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game in only 21 minutes of play.  Mohammad has hit 55.3% of his FGs, but they’re usually just putbacks and dunks.

Pistons lose a tough one 100-99 to the Hornets

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Thursday 16 November 2006 at 9:33 am

The Pistons shot the ball well (52.1%) but they got out-rebounded by the Hornets 44-35, and are starting to miss Ben Wallace as teams are attacking the paint on offense against the Pistons.

Chauncey Billups had a great game with 29 points, 4 rebounds and 9 assists.  Richard Hamilton scored 23 points last night ih his first game back from an arm injury.  Tayshaun Prince has been really stepping up his play and he scored 16 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out 4 assists last night.  Rasheed Wallace was really active with 14 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals.

The Pistons used to win this type of game, but now they sit at 3-5 on the season and really aren’t looking that good.

Pistons throttled by the Warriors 111-79!

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Sunday 12 November 2006 at 11:23 am

The Pistons failed to show up for their game in Oakland last night.  The Pistons trailed this game 57-32 at the half and was probably even over before that.  The Pistons played no defense allowing the Warriors to hit 56.6% of their shots!  The Pistons were also out-rebounded by one of the softest teams in the NBA (42-38)!

Lindsay Hunter led the way off of the bench with 14 points.  Tayshaun Prince (11 points), Chauncey Billups (11 points) & Jason Maxiell (11 points & 7 rebounds) all pitched in a little bit.

The Pistons were really flat and they need to play hard every night.  The Pistons fell to 3-4.

Pistons destroy the Lakers 97-83

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Saturday 11 November 2006 at 2:15 pm

The Pistons were without Richard Hamilton (minor arm injury) but it didn’t matter as the Pistons dominated the Lakers on the boards 49-32.  Tayshaun Prince had the best game that I’ve ever seen him play last night with 31 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists.  Chauncey Billups had a fine game with 21 points, 4 rebounds and 9 assists.  Rasheed Wallace had a strong game with 15 points & 7 rebounds.  Flip Murray started in Hamilton’s place and scored 10 points and grabbed 4 rebounds.  Nazr Mohammed only scored 6 points, but he grabbed 10 rebounds and stole the ball 5 times.  Antonio McDyess had a good game off of the bench with 6 points, 12 rebounds and 5 blocked shots.

The Pistons needed a game like this one to regain some of their swagger.  The Pistons are now 3-3 on the season.
